First Serve Opportunities
- Shadow someone who is serving as a buddy to a child with special needs on a Sunday morning.
- Spend time with a family who has a member with special needs at a Grace Point event, such as No Boundaries Picnic, Kite Day, or New Members Affirmation at a park.
- Attend Parent’s Night Out for an hour or two of the time when a child with special needs is present.
- For those who are trained in working with people with disabilities by profession, such as occupational and physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, and nurses, accompany the Special Needs Coordinator on an observation of a child with special needs on a Sunday morning.
- Interview a person who serves as a buddy for a child with special needs and/or the Special Needs Coordinator to learn about what is involved in serving in this ministry and learn how to relate to people with disabilities.
