Distinctives of Grace Point Life Groups
Life Groups are about pursuing spiritual growth - a relationship of full devotion to Jesus Christ - in the context of Biblical community. Through the Great Commandment (Love God, Love People) and Great Commission (Go, tell everyone, make disciples, baptize them) we embrace the reality that community is more than just study and/or fellowship. Community involves varying elements and expressions of:
- Discipleship (Learning)
- Relationships (Fellowship/Intimacy/Accountability)
- Worship (Adoration of God/Praise/Prayer)
- Ministry (Using your gifts in the Body)
- Mission (Reaching the world around us)
Groups of people meet weekly in homes and on campus throughout the week to pursue Christ through various expressions of these community ingredients. As groups mature, men and women will rise up to launch new groups - as life group missionaries or planters, sent to create centers of community all around this city (versus "splitting" groups).
Groups are at the center of everything we do at Grace Point. Some groups base their discussions off of sermons, others use DVD-driven curriculum, others pick studies that address subjects/topics they are facing while some just take a section of the Bible and dive in! Twice a year the entire church joins in an experience that aligns everyone around a strategic aspect of our life in Christ. Group leaders are dialed into the heart of what's happening at Grace Point so that everyone is able to stay connected. The Kingdom of God expands worldwide, the Church in San Antonio is huge, Grace Point is growing - so it's important to be a part of a group of people who can share life with you in this journey of faith.
