Go Local
Grace Point's goal is to make a difference in our local community for Christ by encouraging our members to go and serve outside the walls of the church.
Our members are encouraged to start by going at least once a year on a local mission experience with Grace Point or with a project created by the member's Life Group.
We seek to minister to the unique needs of our community around us with the resources that are unique to Grace Point.
Please join us on our next go local mission. We'd love to talk to you about your passion to reach out to others and see how we can help you go! Check the Events tab for scheduled dates for the ministry opportunities listed below.
For information on any local opportunity, contact Moe Lane at maureen.lane@gracepoint.org or 210-558-5919.
The Children's Shelter - Want to help spread the love of Jesus to vulnerable children in San Antonio? Consider helping at The Children's Shelter. Opportunities range from special activity nights for Life Groups to ongoing mentoring and volunteering.
Strong Foundation Home for the Homeless - Great opportunity to work with children on Thursday and Friday nights while parents are at Bible Study. Paint, carpentry, general fix up or volunteer to help on a regular basis.
Refugee Ministries - If you are interested in helping with the developing refugee ministry, contact Moe Lane.
Prison Ministries - Minister to inmates at the Dominguez state prison through Prison Fellowship.
Military Ministries - disciple basic trainees at Lackland Air Force base once a month on Sunday mornings. You can be a teacher but must sit in on classes at least one time.
Elder Care - On the third Saturday of every month, volunteers minister to the elderly in various ways: hosting parties, conducting worship services, and doing on-going visitation with the homebound.
